1/8 of the school year down…

Man, the school year really flew. I can still remember the first day of highschool like it was yesterday (that sounds kinda oldish). I really wish that it wasn’t ending so soon. Theres still a lot of things I wanted to do. I guess its also important to remember that with the coming semester, it also means a new year, so I guess it’s time to clean up old habits and start things new…but thats easier said then done…

I can’t think of a witty title.

Ugh. Sooo, many of you know, I haven’t been extremly um… faithful, to my blog. Even though this doesn’t count I thought I should say what I’m thankful for. You know, sometimes it takes certain moments to really change perspective. I mean, in today’s life, we think of every problem as some giant blockade in our path. I was at the beach in Florida this Thanksgiving, and it sitting there after an early Thanksgiving dinner, with all our friends, it really evaporates all your problems. I mean, what is the worst repercussion of that “blockade” in your life? Is it life-threatening? Most likely not. But it shows that all your problems are minuscule, and that you should be more appreciative, instead of complaining all the time. I mean, its been a few days since that day, and those small problems have again seemed like a huge difficulty to me, but it really made me think things out. You know, be a bit more logical and sort out my problems and appreciate my blessings.

…And that ends my rant

Internet is impossible to live without. Period.

Its hard to imagine that just a few decades ago, the internet wasn’t even into existence. And now, for most teenagers, it takes up at least 2 hours. But with all the convinience added, its pretty necessary. Internet was only off at school, so it didn’t stop me at home, but during debate practices, it made me refrain from playing games during debate lectures. Also, i learned to stop doing my homework in the computer lab during lunch. It think the main thing it did was kinda show that although we feel that the internet is necessary, it really isn’t. Made me use my resources, you know?

6 more weeks? Agh..

Well, time passes by fast. Being focused, for me, is going to especially important for a lot of my subjects, and I don’t think I have many other options. How am I going to do it? Well….my parents are doing most of it, they literally ask me every 30 minutes after I get home from school if I have done my homework. And now my dad even tries to check my homework, and he does a pretty good job, except for math, which he fails at. Well I’m off to finish that take home quiz, oh fun.

I hate the cold. No questions asked. No only is it super unbearable for me, but I can catch like 20 infections in 1 day. It can really annoy me. Those people who like the cold bewilder me, I mean, who likes to be in the nesting ground for viruses. Not me. In fact, I think I’m already catching something *sniffle*

Here’s my excuse: I was unwilling. I went to some church montessori in kindergarten, and the actually taught cursive at the same time they taught regular print writing. Print was easy, not neat, but manageable. Cursive on the other hand was not any good for me, and so I simply refused to learn. We weren’t getting graded, and so, not caring, went on the rest of my life. And now, I regret it. My note taking skills are half as fast, and often I must tell the teacher to repeat herself. I probably don’t have the attention span to learn anything unnecessary and concerned with education, although it would be worth my while. I really need to get those pens that record sound and replay it went you touch words and stuff. Anyhow, I think it should be highly emphasized because it will be great for notes and timed things, *cough cough*.

The OraBrush…its amazing…

Theres so many product advertisements everywhere claiming to do amazing things, its really hard to know what does what. So lets go right into it…my favorite product is…..the OraBrush. Some of you may have seen it on Youtube as a featured video. My mom actually bought before they started heavily marketing it, and it works pretty well. Its like a tongue scraper, except it doesn’t scrape the tongue…it kinda brushes it . No, really, it takes a lot of gunk out of your tongue, and if you do it at night, your morning breath and dry tongue disappear right away. Just don’t look at it after you put it in your mouth…the gunk that comes out might disturb you…

Rain Day? Don’t you mean snow day?

Rain day. Never heard of one, but they look pretty good to me. Amazing day to gather some extra sleep and be completely lazy. Whether it was justified, I could probably care less. But since thats the point of this, lets get on with it. Although it was a completely cloudless and beautiful day that day, no one could have guessed that. Georgia weather for you. A lot of teachers live elsewhere, usually deeper near the urban part of Atlanta, actually more than live inside Fulton County. It was unfair for them to have to come to work when Atlanta was nearly flooded up to its waist in water. In fact, many days prior, where rain was as bad or worse, Fulton chose otherwise and kept school open, although most nearby neighboring counties closed their schools. Fulton ultimately acted too late so it just put us behind, and really helped no one. We had no problem getting to school so it was never of inconvenience to the students, but more so to the staff who had been coming to work in those conditions for several days finally got a day off. Although it was bad planning, it didn’t hurt too much, and no one could have possible predicted that kind of weather for the next day, so, whats done is done.

What the crap? Who bans book of all things?

This whole banned books thing is getting me pretty worked up. So many good titles have been banned that I used to love to read…when I was in elementary school. When choosing a book with my parents for this project, I decided I would keep away from anything I’d already read, although previous experience with the book would probably help me a lot. I ended up choosing Summer of My German Soldier, mainly because my sister told me it was a good read and had no real reason to be banned. After reading some of it this weekend, I think I might be changing to Flowers for Algernon, before its too late. I don’t think I’d be able to make great arguments with a book like that as I would with a book I’m well familiarized with.

3 day weekends are awesome….if you don’t have doctor appointments…

I was really looking foward to my 3 day weekend. At least I thought I was. Each day of my weekend I had a different doctor appointment. On Saturday morning I had to go to my orthopedist for my arm. On Sunday morning I had to go to my dentist for my braces. And on Monday for my doctor’s appointment, which I’m not really sure why it was open on Labor day anyways, but I had to go get a flu shot. Not once did I stay at home and mope around being lazy. Isn’t that what 3 day weekends are for?? Oh well, I got some good time to finally get some clothed from the mall. And I got some time to highlight this huge piece of debate evidence too. So, not all useless.
